The South Calder Mission Community is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and adults, especially those who are vulnerable, and expects all office holders and volunteers to share this commitment. Situated in west Cumbria, the South Calder Mission Community comprises the parishes of the Seatallan benefice (pink on the map above) and those of the Western Lake District Churches benefice (yellow on the map.) It sits within the borough of Copeland, where the Lake District meets the Irish Sea coastline as shown in the short video below.  It contains England's highest mountain, deepest lake and smallest church.


The Mission Community is ecumenical and includes the Methodist community based at their churches in Seascale and Gosforth.
