Situated in west Cumbria, the South Calder Mission Community comprises the parishes of the Seatallan benefice (pink on the map above) and those of the Western Lake District Churches benefice (yellow on the map.) It sits within the borough of Copeland, where the Lake District meets the Irish Sea coastline as shown in the satalite image above.  It contains England's highest mountain, deepest lake and smallest church. The Mission Community is ecumenical and includes Methodist churches in both Seascale and Gosforth. The churches of the Mission Community, together with their ACNY (A Church Near You) page, website and Facebook page, where known, are listed here.

The South Calder Mission Community is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and adults, especially those who are vulnerable, and expects all office holders and volunteers to share this commitment. The PCCs have adopted the House of Bishops’ ‘Promoting a Safer Church; Safeguarding Policy Statement’. For more information on safeguarding click through to our safeguarding page on the menu. Signed: benefice safeguarding officers
